The Midnight Garden Blog Tours

the midnight garden blog tours
The Midnight Garden has organized some traveling ARC tours in the past, and we've decided to start hosting the occasional traditional blog tour as well!

Tours take a lot of time and effort to coordinate, so we'll only be doing them for books or authors that we really love, especially since there are no plans to charge for the service.

Would you like to participate in tours hosted by the Midnight Garden?

Sign up here if you're a blogger and would like to add your name to our database!

We consider many factors when inviting participants, but we're primarily interested in matching up bloggers who make the most sense for each tour. This usually means reviewers who write thoughtful content who can also bring a great audience to the books. Tour stops are limited, so preference is definitely given to bloggers we have a relationship with/chat with often and who have a proven record of hosting great tour stops. Tours will encompass both U.S. and international blogs, with the aim towards providing content that is exclusive to your site.

Authors and Publishers

We are open to hosting quality tours on a very select basis.  The first requirement for our involvement: either we love the author's previous work or we love the specific book.

If you're an author with whom we have a relationship, please feel free to pitch us ideas anytime. If you're a publisher with a book you think we'd enjoy, please see our Review Policies.  Our tours will definitely focus much more on quality vs. quantity, and the books we choose to work with will be a reflection of our personal tastes. That being said, we love a great many books and authors and couldn't possibly find the time to mount tours for every one, so if we're not able to take on a book tour, we're also happy to occasionally recommend fellow tour hosts as appropriate.

Thank you!

If You Find Me Blog Tour - FILLED

Update: this tour filled in literally 10 hours, so it looks like this new venture will be a success. ;) Thanks to everyone who expressed interest!

To kick things off, we're presently organizing a tour for Emily Murdoch's If You Find Me! It's a stunning debut filled with heartbreak and hope, and after I finished, I knew immediately I wanted to do what I could to help spread the word. I'm personally inviting a few blogs based prior relationships and fit, but we do still  have a couple of slots to fill. Bloggers will be provided with a review copy a well as a finished copy for giveaways.

Tour dates: March 18th - 29th, 2013

If you'd like to be considered for participation for this tour,  please sign up here! You'll also need to fill out the general tour participation form linked above for our database, please. This tour is open to U.S. bloggers only.

Tour participants will be provided with an egalley for review courtesy of St. Martin's Press, and those who are selected will receive invitations and further information.

Thanks! Let us know below if you'd be interested in future tours hosted by us, too.

  1. This is such a great idea, Wendy! With your reach, I think you'll do a lot of good in getting buzz out around these books.

I also realized that you just posted this a few minutes before I filled out the form. So I seem a little overzealous. Sorry!

    1. Thanks Bekka! I'm hoping that's the case, and with my sometimes offbeat taste, I'm hoping to occasionally help spotlight books that are deserving of a bit more help with marketing as well.

And hey, nothing wrong with being zealous! ;)

    1. Well, we'll see if this makes me want to pull my hair out, hah. But I don't anticipate doing too many tours, so hopefully that won't happen. ;)

  8. I'm so excited for this one, Wendy. IFYM was one of my favorite reads this year so far! I signed up to be a tour host, although I know my application will probably get buried among the hundreds you'll receive today. Haha. Great job, and I support you and the author all the way <3

    1. Oh, just to clarify, I didn't sign up for IYFM, but just for the database one :D Haha! Sorry I didn't make that clearer!

    2. Oh, I was just going to say that unfortunately IYFM is U.S. only! But I'm glad you signed up for future tours, I'm hoping we get some international ones down the road.

And yes, we've gotten a lot of sign ups already. :) The biggest problem is going to be turning people down due to space issues.

  10. I really like that you are only going to host books that you love. I'm always nervous about agreeing to blog tours, because more than once I haven't liked the book I've agreed to read. I TRUST you guys.

    1. Yeah, I couldn't possibly put that kind of effort into a book I didn't believe in, Lauren. We won't even do giveaways for books that we wouldn't recommend to somebody, and we never do promos for books/authors we don't enjoy ourselves.

It's always chancy signing up for a tour if you haven't read a book in advance, though--everyone has different taste! But hopefully we'll have more notice with future tours and such. Thanks so much for your lovely comment!

    1. We're dipping cautious toes into this because it does take a lot of effort to coordinate things like this, LE, but fortunately we have a pretty good network of blogs we're friendly with, which is a good starting point. And yes, I agree--I'd been thinking about this for awhile, but after I finished IYFM, I thought it'd be the perfect one to start with!

And being that we already have 50 bloggers signed up for the database with zero promotion in less than 24 hours, I think this is going to be a pretty successful venture. ;)
