YA Sci-Fi Thrillers Giveaway!

November 13, 2012 2012, giveaway, sci fi or futuristic, Wendy 112

origin khoury eve & adam applegate grant erasing time arc giveaway

Time for another giveaway! Today we’re offering up ARCs of three young adult sci-fi thrillers released within the last couple of months that have gotten a lot of buzz this fall. If you’re a fan of action-packed stories, these novels will definitely fit the bill.

origin khoury arc giveaway

Origin by Jessica Khoury

I quite liked this story about an immortal girl who was raised by scientists in the wilds of the Amazon rainforest. She meets a boy and starts to question her existence (hah! we’ve all been there), and overall this was a very fun read. If I had a pet jaguar I totally would have ridden him, though.

ve & adam applegate grant arc giveaway

Eve & Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate

What if you could build the perfect boy? Evening Spiker gets that chance when her mother, a research scientist, challenges her with this unusual project after Eve is involved in a life-changing accident. This is the first official collaboration from the popular (and married!) authors of the BZRK and Animorphs series.

erasing time cj hill arc giveaway

Erasing Time by C.J. Hill

This dystopian thriller has a great premise: twin girls who wake up in the 2447 with no way of getting home. How will they survive when there’s no one they can trust? This novel has time-travel, conspiracies, romance, and a plot filled with twists and turns.

I’d love to win so I could give these books to my 15yo son, a big fan of sci-fi thrillers. Of course I’d have to preview them (or more likely, read them after he’s done :^). triciaj_aa -at- airpost.net

  3. Cherrynose

I have wanted these books for ages but never got around to actually buying them. I’m new to goodreads and I’m sure these books would be a great start off! I will make sure I review them all if I won. Thanks so much for the giveaway! xxx

Aw man, I’ve been eyeing all three of these books lately, and would love the chance to win them. Erasing Time is especially appealing- I love dystopias.

  5. Grace

I really love all sci-fi/dystopian books and they must be my favorite genre. I’ve been wanting to read Origin and Eve & Adam for quite a while now they have been my to-read list. Animorphs were one of my favorite books when I was a child and I read every single one of them. I can’t wait to see what Katherine does with Eve & Adam. I haven’t seen Erasing Time around before but I’ve certainly added it to my to-read list as well!

I love all sci-fi/dystopian books and I can’t wait to read Origin and Eve & Adam. They’ve been on my to-read list for quite a while and I absolutely adored the Animorphs series so I can’t wait to see the new book. I haven’t seen Erasing Time around before but I certainly added it to the to-read list! Good luck everyone x x x

  7. Chenise Jones

I’ve been dying to read all these books since I first heard of them! It’s almost winter break and I’ll finally be done classes and can get back to reading something I want to for a change. These books would be great places to start!

    chenisejones(at)hotmail(dot)com

  8. ohdamnbooks

    Those three books look good.
For Origin, I want to see how the immortal girl deals with her own immortality because honestly, watching the people you love die and knowing you will only watch more of the people you love die is lonely.
For Eve & Adam, I love the whole sci-fic twist.
& Erasing Time – I’ve always love reading about twins, but twins time-traveling? That’s a huge plus. (:

  9. Jessie

I used to loooove Applegate when I was kid. Who didn’t read Animorhps? I loved the Andalites especially- she was the first author to make me want to believe in other forms of life in the universe. Eve and Adam sounds like another good one from her – and I’m interested to see how the husband/wife doubleteam works out.

I’ve had Origin on my list for a while – a sci fi novel with a non white/American protagonist? I wish there were more options out there like this. Plus a pet jaguar would be right up my alley.

Thanks for the giveaway ladies. You always have great opportunities.

    jeskimo.kimono@gmail.com

  10. Samantha

so I’ve had very little reading time since going back to work full time – and it looks like I may be getting some reading time back soon. This is a good way to get me back in the reading groove. Sometimes a girl just needs a break and this will be a cool gift for whoever wins!

Well, I would absolutely love to win these books for many reasons, but I’m just going to mention a few. First, I have been trying to get some interesting new YA books from my library but they seem to always be checked out! Secondly, dystopian, sci-fi YA is honestly my biggest weakness. And finally, I am a poor college student who needs books to survive but doesn’t have the money to supply the amount necessary to satisfy the addiction.

Thank you so much for being so gracious in your giveaways!

So… If my reason for REALLY wanting to win this (and most of your other giveaways, really) giveaway is because I’m a serious bibliophile, will that qualify? :P

    Okay, no seriously. Apart from me being the above mentioned, I’m really intrigued by Origin and Erasing Time. Plus YA sci-fi! Time-travel! Robots! Artificial intelligence! What’s not to love, really? So save me from my work boredom and entrust these lovely books to me (;

I’d love to have Origin, Eve & Adam, and Chasing Time. The premise of all three books really intrigues me. I haven’t read much of YA Sci-Fi thriller but I always love the idea of immortality, genetic creation, and time travel. These are really eclectic bunch of books that looks really fun read. Thanks.

  20. Pa-ru

I’d love to win these books. Especially since sci-fi thriller peaks my interest. Anything with genetic creation, time traveling, and immortality are just really cool. After reading the premise, Origin, Eve & Adam, and Chasing Time appear to be eclectic mixture of books that would be a blast to read. I’m curious to see how the story go for each book. Also it’ll be a nice read for the holidays. Thanks.

  23. Dani Marie

I would love to win this contest because two of these books are at the top of my to-read list and the other I have read and gave 4.5 stars to. Sci-fi is being reinvented in these books and I’m so excited to be a part of it!

  24. SaraO

I should win because I’m in the market for a new sci-fi read. I love the genre but lately have taken to buying too many paranormals. Thus, my book budget is GONE so 3 freebies would be nice ;)

Especially as I’ve been watching ORIGIN and EVE & ADAM for awhile now…

  25. Mel@Thedailyprophecy.

Origin sounds like something that fits my interest, because I will be working on a laboratory later (but I promise you that I won’t be making immortal girls :p)

The same for Eve & Adam. I won’t build the perfect boy, because I already found one myself :) I believe that flaws make something perfect, but I would love to see this perfect guy in the book. And because I’m a researcher, it’s always great to meet a scientist character :)

Erasing time sounds delicious, because who doesn’t love a good conspiracy combined with love and a great plot?

  26. Twisty J

I am really enjoying the recent additions to YA sci-fi, and all of these have been on my TBR. When I am reading sci-fi I wonder how much of it could be real one day, and how much farther we will be able to reach. Plus, it helps me feel more prepared for world domination and how possible ways to survive zombie or android invasions. I feel it is always good to be prepared for anything. Thanks for the chance!

  27. Racing Song

I want to win this price pack because I just LOVE reading sci-fi and thriller, I was so thrilled to see this giveaway! I’ve heard about Origin and Eve and Adam, it is in my to-read list and I’m very looking forward to them, and after I saw the summary of Erasing Time, I wanted to read it too, so I really hope I could win this giveaway and read the books before their releases, waiting is always torture!

  28. Precious

I would love to win this prize pack because…I’m a sci-fi enthusiast. After reading Katya’s World and Eve and Adam, I have a newfound respect for YA sci fi. I’ve heard amazing things about Erasing Time and Origin. <3 And I'm just DYING to read both! :) Oh and I'm broke so I can't buy them.

    Hi guys!

Honestly, I want the books to give away to the teen book club members at my library. They get giddy with excitement when I have book swag for them. Time travel is big with them lately, so I know the Erasing Time one would intrigue them especially, and it’s one I haven’t heard of lately!

  30. Katie

I’ve been dying to read all three of these. There are so many sci-fi’s out there these days that none seem to really stand out. I’ve heard about these so much I know they have to be something special.

Also, have you *seen* the trailers?

Wow, some many interesting choices. Honestly, I’ve always been a casually lurker here because, frankly, I have a hard time finding YA novels I can enjoy and share with my students. All three of these books sound fabulous, dark and deeply dystopian. I love the idea of twins though, and in a dystopian setting I’d love to see how it’s used, so I’d love to try and win a copy of Erasing Time!

There’s only one word to say to describe why I want to win this: DYSTOPIAN!!! I *love* dystopian reads, they are my favorite. Just knowing that their worlds are so close to being our own is enough to creep me out for sure! Not to mention I’ve been reading reviews for all three of these and they have all been nothing but positive. Seriously, I am dying to read these :) Thank you for the opportunity to win them!

thanks for the fabulous giveaway! I’ve had all of these books on the top of my “wants now” list ;)

Unfortunately, I’m on a tight, practically minuscule book budget since today I have to replace all 4 tires and do the 3 yr maintenance package. So that’s about $950 right there. Siiiigh. Looks like I’m living off cheerios and peanut butter this month! I’m going for the pity vote :)

  42. Nitzan-Katia Schwarz

All the books in this pack are book I’ve been really interested in reading – Adam and Eve has been on top of my to-read list, I’ve seen the Origin trailer and fell in love with it, and this is the first time I’m hearing of Erasing Time but it sounds great!
Unfortunately for me, I have yet to find one of them available in my bookstores, if you can believe it! We have a really low amount of books in English where I’m from, even though I read only in English :< so, I’ll be so, so happy if I won this giveaway! You can contact me here: Nitzan887@gmail.com

  43. starryeyedjen

Big sci-fi nut right here. Been trekkin’ it up with my dad since I can remember. :) Origin and Erasing Time both sound awesome, what with the existential crisis and time travel, but I have to be honest that I’m most interested in reading Eve & Adam. Creating the perfect boy sounds fun, but I also heard that this story is a lot funnier than I had been led to believe. Can’t wait to find out if that’s true. (But how could it not be?? There’s got to be humor involved when trying to create the perfect male specimen. :P) Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!

I’d love to win these books. I’ve been eyeing Origin and Eve and Adam for a while now. Thanks for the giveaway.

I teach science to middle schoolers, and I am always encouraging my students to read sci-fi novels, because that’s how I got over my “feminine” fear of science, and learned to love it! I’d absolutely love to be able to add these three books to my classroom collection. Eve and Adam and Origin sound particularly like books my kids might like.

  46. Johanna

For this giveaway, I thank you with the power of a thousand solar eclipse. I want to win this prize pack because my fingers start moving by themselves after my eyes read this part,”YA Sci-Fi Thrillers Giveaway!” Eve and Adam is just…*smashes keyboard* and the other two are bonuses. :)

I would love to win to share these books with middle school students. New YA books are one way I can form relationships with them. As a substitute, I don’t see them often, but bonding over books (I had read Hunger Games before them, which was really impressive to them) helps me keep them on track in other areas!

  48. Ceecee M

I’d loove to win free books! haha They’re irresistible. I saw Katherine Applegate’s name. I read her Making Out series and loved them as a kid. I’m curious about her new book. The other books sound interesting. Thanks for this opportunity!

These books look absolutely amazing! I’ve heard so much great stuff about Origin that I definitely definitely need to read. Pet jaguar? My need to read this book has just increased a huge amount! Eve and Adam looks amazing too and that cover is just so eye-catching. This is the first time I’ve heard of Erasing Time and I’m instantly intrigued. I love time travel and this book would find a loving home with me as I love dystopians right now.

I’m also a huge huge fan of sci-fi and there has been some great YA sci-fi around this year so I would love love love to have the chance to own these amazing books! If not I’m going to buy them all anyway as they look so so good!!! Thanks for this great giveaway :)

I’ve been wanting to read Origin since the release! The reason I would love to win them, is because been a international book junkie and having a mayor problem that book depository doesn’t ship here, is really difficult to have, find or score one of this awesome copies. I’ve been dying to read them specially Origin and Eve and Adam, so hopefully, hopefully I can have a chance. Thanks for the giveaway!

I like how each author portrays they’re own views of differen genra’s. I also never read any of these books yet and I would love too get the chance to read them.

I’ve been looking for some great sci-fi reads. Erasing Time seems to have it all. Plus, I’ve been reading so many books on my Kindle lately, it’d be great to hold a real book again! Thanks so much. Christy nc_hintz(at)yahoo(dot)com

I’ve been dying to read Eve and Adam! I have heard great things about Origin so I am very excited to just have the opportunity to win these.

I am DYING for Erasing Time! I happen to have a copy of ORIGIN already, so if I win, that book will go towards my charity event for the impoverished kids. I’ve really been getting into sci-fi lately. I work at my public library and it breaks my heart when I talk to our reference librarian about having to shorten our adult sci-fi section because the books aren’t flying off of the shelves for that genre like they used to. Alas, YA sci-fi is still going strong, so we have something going for us! lol

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win <3

I want to win this because I need more books to feed my borderline problematic book obsession. And I’m awesome. Give awesome people books. Lyn needs books to live.
