Spectacular Blogoversary Giveaway!

March 19, 2012 2012, giveaway, Wendy 107

In many ways, it seems as though The Midnight Garden really kicked off this year…but our official one-year blogoversary is actually this weekend! It’s been so great getting to meet our fellow bloggers and to share so many wonderful books with our readers. We appreciate chatting with you so much, and we hope the next year is filled with tons of exciting reading adventures, too.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we’re giving away two amazing prizes, one to U.S. Kindle owners and a second to our international readers (or those without Kindle devices). Please read the entire post before you fill out any forms so you know which contest to enter.

Win a Spectacular YA Kindle Ebook Prize!

U.S. Kindle owners, have we got an awesome prize for you. We’re giving away a huge bundle of 22 YA ebooks worth over $170! Some of my absolute favorite books and authors are in this package, which includes:

a Rafflecopter giveaway <a href=”http://rafl.es/enable-js”>You need javascript enabled to see this giveaway</a>. Your Choice of Books Giveaway!

Don’t own a Kindle? Or a reader from outside the U.S.? Never fear, we love you, too! We will give one lucky winner a mini-shopping spree of their books of choice, up to $25 in value from anywhere in the world that The Book Depository ships.

a Rafflecopter giveaway <a href=”http://rafl.es/enable-js”>You need javascript enabled to see this giveaway</a>. In addition to the disclaimers on each contest, please note that you may only enter ONE of these two contests so we can keep it fair. Don’t forget you can earn extra entries by tweeting daily, sharing the contest on Facebook, etc. Good luck!

Oppression Giveaway Winner!

We’re also very please to announce that Becca from Omfg! Books is the winner of the paperback giveaway for Oppression, for leaving a blog post comment. Like almost everyone who answered our question from that contest “What would you do if you could live 5x as long?” she said she’d spend the extra time traveling…and reading, of course! Wouldn’t we all love to do that?

Congrats on your blogoversary! Here’s to many, many more :) I can only pick ONE thing that I like best?! Your voice and reviews (ok, ok, can we pretend that’s one?) The vibe at The Midnight Garden is so welcoming and friendly, but it’s also honest and genuine. I know I’ll get your honest feelings about a book.

Happiest blogoversary!! :-) I am delighted for you all. What I love most about your blog are the great recommendations. I’m a 40+ university administrator, who only started really reading YA in the last couple of years. When I first got started in the genre, it took a while to get plugged in to good recs that matched my reading tastes. So I have been delighted to find you good folks and get such awesome reading suggestions. I hope you keep up this great blog for many years to come! :-)

  11. Linda

Happy Blogaversary Midnight Garden :) I only discovered you in December, but I love to come here and read the reviews, because you gals always give your honest opinion, whether it be good, bad or ugly. It is really important to me to read honest book reviews for new books I want to read.
I know you have had some people not be happy with you, but I love the Midninght Garden for that reason!! Keep up the great work ladies.

  12. Miss Vain's Paranormal Fantasy

What I enjoy the most? Honesty and humor. Your reviews are always truthful, funny, entertaining and they never fail to hold my attention :) That’s what I love you for the most :) But it also helps that you’re a doll and your design is wicked cool – can’t stop staring at the owl on the freaking mushroom! :D So cool!

  37. Lynn K.

    Happy Blogversary! <3
Midnight Garden initially caught my eye because I LOVE the background! It reminded me of those digital art kits I like to create pieces with. Hanging around longer, I went through the reviews and found that I enjoyed them very much.

P.S. I apologize for accidentally putting my name into the first rafflecoptor. Can it be removed? D:

  38. Caroline

The thing I like most about your blog is that I feel like I’m reading an honest review. You won’t pretend that you liked something that everyone else did when you didn’t; you don’t act ashamed about loving something that everyone else calls a “guilty pleasure”. (There is no such thing, by the way. ;) )

  39. Vegan YA Nerds

Congratulations!! This blog is definitely one of my faves :)

I have two answers as I’m entering twice (once for the US members or our blog and once for lil ol’ me!)

I love your fantastic reviews and I love when you do a post highlighting all the Kindle bargains!

    Mands xox

  40. Lexie

Honestly? Your reviews. You guys write some of the loveliest reviews I’ve found, and I look forward to reading every one. A very, very happy blogoversary to you all! :D

  41. tellingmelies

  42. DeeDee Griffin

Happy Blogaversary! I enjoy your book selections – they seem to be right in line with my own taste. Beautiful artwork as well!

  43. Caitlin-Cats Critters

Congrats on the Blogoversary! Have to say my favorite part (besides the reviews and giveaways!) is you background, it’s just so different then anything else.

  44. Kate

I love that you give YA literature an honest chance & an in-depth review, instead of blowing it off as “kid’s books.”

  45. Savannah Valdez

Happy Blogoversary! I really love your great honest reviews. Also love you post on bookish jewelry. There are so many things I want to buy!

  46. Debbie

  48. Ashleigh

Congratulations on making it to a year of blogging! You’re so good at it too; I haven’t even gotten 100 followers yet and my blog is about half a year older. Maybe I can have a big blowout like this when I hit that mark.

Anyway, here’s to a great blogoversary and many more to come!

  49. Kaethe

What I love best about your blog is that you cover the kinds of books I most enjoy reading.

Someone is going to be happy when they when this prize. The bundle is full of win.

  50. readingdate

Congrats on your blogoversary! You have accomplished so much in one year. My favorite thing about your blog is finding new books I wouldn’t otherwise hear about, and the insightful, well-written reviews. The tone of the blog is also very friendly and professional. Keep up the great work!

  51. Lori M. Lee

All that extra time… well, I suppose I’d spend more time enjoying every moment I had with my loved ones–knowing that I’ll outlive all of them will definitely make me cherish those moments more.

  52. Fred LeBaron

What I enjoy most? Thoughtful sensitive reviews from sophisticated YA readers with eclectic and wide ranging tastes. Also you guys can be quite funny at times!

  53. elena

oops, please disqualify my entry on the first contest! I wasn’t paying attention when I was entering.

I enjoy all the really insightful reviews that are always really eloquent and make me actually think about the book! I also like how there’s a touch of humour too and I can trust your recs. :D

  54. Christy D

    Happy Blogoversary!

Hmm.. 5x as long… I’d definitely take good care of myself. I’d keep lots of journals, so there would be 1st hand accounts of the world for all those years. And travel.. live in a different county every 40 years or so. :)

  55. Kara_Malinczak

I would probably go to school, get a bunch of degrees, and work all of my dream jobs. Like zoologist, oceanographer, park ranger, race car driver, theater actor, etc. You get the idea. Happy blogoversary!

  56. pagesunbound

Congratulations on the Blogoversary! If I had exgtra time, I would travel and maybe pick up a second college degree so I can have a variety jobs in my long life.

  57. Missie, The Unread Reader

Happy Blogoversary, Midnight Garden Peeps! This giveaway is so freaking epic! Thank you. For my extra time, I think I’d try to book myself a ticket to the moon, like Lance Bass, but actually go through it with. Why not?! You only live 5 times longer. :)
