ReplyDeleteWow. That was a gorgeous review! How am I not at all familiar with this book or the one before it? That is a tragedy I tell you! I have to say I adore flawed and vulnerable characters, they suck me in and make me fall in love with them every time, so I think this would be a good series for me!

ReplyDeleteThis book sounds so absolutely beautiful, Wendy! <3 I haven't even heard of This Is Shyness before, but reading your review makes me wonder why I don't have it on my TBR list already. The characters (Wolfboy and Wildgirl -- I honestly love their names!) sound perfect, the writing sounds flawless, and the storyline sounds like a breathtaking dream!

Sadly I clicked on the link, only to find of course, that this book is out of print in the U.S.. Why do they torture us so? I will keep this on my wish list and hope that someday I can get a copy!

@Heidi, have you checked fishpond.com? They ship worldwide for free and they usually have all the Aussie books that you can't find on reg book sites like amazon or B&N.

This is Shyness and Queen of the Night are both really unusual books - but if you're looking for something different, I definitely recommend them both :)

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this series, but the writing and characters sound wonderful. I haven't read too many books from Aussie authors but the ones I've read have all been pretty good so I'll definitely have check this one out.

ReplyDeleteOoh I think I missed this on Goodreads. I've never heard of this series before but it sounds really good and i Love the way the characters are described. Aussie books rarely disappoint, eh!? :)
